Using Textures With Photographs

While we were vacationing, we stopped in at an art gallery. Several of the photographs for sale were enhanced with various textures. I found some great textures for free on Flickr They are a lot of fun to work with. And you can get some amazing results too!

North Shore of Boston

We just came back from the North Shore of Boston It is a beautiful area and rich in history. Gloucester, Rockport and Salem are the major attractions. Picture above is one of many absolutely beautiful seaside vistas.

Trying New Things

Life is full of ironies sometimes, isn't it! After spending the better part of an evening adding brushes to Photoshop Elements, I got my latest issue of Elements magazine from Adobe. I really love it because it's chock full of great ideas and information. The first article talked about software that would allow the user to immediately add new brushes and actions to Photoshop Elements quickly and easily. It's called Add-O-Matic and is available for $10.99 from Graffi Shop

It's probably the best $10.99 I've spent in a while!

I've also been playing around with some Actions and templates. The actions were free, the templates were not. If you look too quickly, you won't notice that the cat pictures are in black and white except for the pink nose on Kinsey and the pink nose and blue eyes on Hamish.

He has some nice actions for sale. I wanted to see how his freebies did before I buy anything.

I'm finally getting around to learning how to work with Templates. I liked the "break through" one especially. It's kind of unexpected in a way. The Fall one was fun to do. Now I have to work on adding scrapbook "papers" to the templates instead or solid colors. Some templates are easier to work with than others.

100 LB Lost

I've been blogging about my quest to become healthier on my blog Renewal

I've had weight loss surgery and double knee replacement surgery with a hysterectomy , in between, all in a space of 7 months. (From November 11, 2008 to July 9, 2008) I've been faithfully undergoing physical therapy since my knee surgery. In the meantime, I've hit a milestone: A 100 lb loss. Thanks to my physical therapy I'm also a lot more fit. Life is good and getting better.

Cat Dreams

Do cats dream? We know dogs do so I would imagine cats do also. Do they dream of food or chasing birds or just running free? Out cats are strictly house cats. They wouldn't last outside! They are too accustomed to the soft life!
